From a Local Football Project to a Pathway for Youth Development and Global Opportunity

Our Story:

Cratos was born from a simple belief: football can change lives.

In 2013, Cratos began in Akweley, Kasoa, as a social project created to use football as a platform to support and transform the lives of young people. From the beginning, our purpose went beyond winning matches. We wanted to create an environment where young people could discover their abilities, develop discipline, build character and see new possibilities for their future.

Over the years, that belief has remained at the heart of everything we do.

Where Football Meets Opportunity

We believe that talent is found everywhere, but opportunity is not.

Ghana has an extraordinary football culture and an abundance of young talent. Yet for many talented young people, discovering their potential is only the beginning. They need quality coaching, education, mentorship, character development, exposure and access to pathways that can take them further.

That is the gap Cratos seeks to help address.

Our approach is therefore holistic. We develop the player, the student and the person.

Through structured football development, education, character and leadership programmes, health and wellbeing support, performance monitoring and international exposure, we seek to prepare young people not only for football, but for life beyond football.

A Journey Built on Resilience

Our journey has not always been easy.

From humble beginnings, Cratos has continued to grow through determination, partnerships and a commitment to the young people we serve.

Our journey has included competitive success, player development and progression into higher levels of Ghanaian football. Players developed through Cratos have gone on to compete in Ghana’s Premier League and other professional and competitive levels.

Our development was strengthened through partnerships and support, including our relationship with the Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation, which has contributed to our continued evolution.

These experiences have taught us an important lesson:

Sustainable football development is not only about producing better players. It is about developing better prepared young people.

From Football Club to Development Organisation

Today, Cratos is entering a new chapter.

We are evolving from a traditional football club model into a broader football development and education organisation, connecting football, education, leadership, character development and international opportunity.

Our objective is to create an environment where talented young people can develop their abilities while preparing for different pathways—professional football, scholarships, education, leadership, employment and other opportunities.

Our international partnerships, exchange opportunities, scouting networks and development programmes are designed to connect Ghanaian talent with opportunities beyond the local environment.

Why Ghana Matters

Our story is also a Ghanaian story.

We believe Ghana has the talent, football culture and human potential to become an even stronger hub for youth football development.

From our base in Ghana, we want to connect local talent with the wider world while also creating opportunities for people and organisations from around the world to engage with youth development in Ghana.

That means creating opportunities not only for players, but also for coaches, educators, volunteers, partners, organisations and investors who believe in the potential of young people.

Building Bridges Through Football

Football gives us a common language.

It creates opportunities for young people to meet, learn, compete and build relationships across communities and borders.

This is why Cratos actively seeks meaningful relationships with football clubs, academies, educational institutions, organisations, companies, volunteers and development partners in Ghana and internationally.

Our ambition is not simply to send players abroad.

It is to build bridges between Ghana and the global football community.

Through partnerships, player development, coaching exchanges, international programmes, tournaments, volunteer opportunities and educational initiatives, we want Cratos to become a platform through which people and organisations can contribute to and benefit from football development in Ghana.
